DJ ADAM 2MV Biography
You may know him now as DJ Adam 2MV, but before he donned his alter ego, Adam Gonzales was just another regular kid growing up in Diego Martin, Trinidad. Born in 1986, it didn’t take him too long to discover two definite passions: football and music.
Starting his extensive music collection in 2000, within a year he became a part of the short lived group, Taliban Sound System in 2001. He would then go on to co-found Xplicit Sound System alongside producer Mevon Soodeen. As the years rolled by, Xplicit Sound System grew into Xplicit Entertainment, with the focus also on events and music production with DJ Adam as the official DJ of the group.
In 2010, Adam decided to focus fully on his craft. He began to create cross-genre deejay mixtapes,
He also formed Xplicit Radio alongside his Xplicit Entertainment teammates, which became the top online radio show in Trinidad with many celebrity guests including Kees Dieffenthaller and David Rudder who graced the Xplicit Radio couch for an interview. This propelled Adam to become Bobby’s Bar’s in house DJ in 2012, and he eventually went on to do the same at Club Amnesia in 2013, all the while playing at several events and dropping mixes, which he had now dubbed his #2MV mix series (named after the 2 Much Vybz catch phrase he coined alongside Soodeen). Xplicit Radio had also been dubbed #2MV Radio at its 2 year anniversary, which also saw the growth of Xplicit Entertainment by incorporating new logos for the show and for the company.
In 2014, he officially joined Trinidadian Carnival mas band, Yuma Vibe, and also became a DJ on the local Trinidadian radio station Red 96.7 both of which he is still part of today.
The DJ Adam #2MV mix series is ongoing, and his escapades over the years, has seen him in several events in Trinidad & Tobago, Guyana, Barbados’ Cropover and St. Lucia. He has also deejayed for soca artist K. Rich and Trapsonians Mark Hardy & Yung Rudd.
2015 saw the birth of #2MV Apparel, his own clothing line.
